A man was rescued and flown to a hospital after a mountain biking wreck on a trail at Table Rock on Saturday afternoon according to the Morganton News Herald. The man was found unconscious about 8 miles from the parking lot. Friends of the biker did not have phones with them and had to ride back to the parking lot to call Burke County EMS. Due to the bikers location an extensive extraction plan was necessary. The biker was carried half a mile to an ATV and then transported by ATV to an ambulance and then finally being transported to a helicopter. The bikers were all local and were not on a publicly known trail.
