The now former Caldwell County Superintendent was surprised with a state award on Thursday. According to the Lenoir News Topic Dr. Steve Stone was awarded the Order of the Pine Leaf, North Carolina’s highest civilian order. The award was presented during Dr. Stone’s final board meeting before retirement.
