A former Caldwell County high-school star athlete will be a convicted felon and may end up in prison instead of playing basketball. Mekhi Aundrel Dula of Dulatown Dula pleaded guilty shooting another man in the abdomen to on Thursday. Dula was one week away from signing paperwork to play basketball for Cape Fear Community College when the shooting happened. Dula is scheduled to be sentence on July 23.
