A firefighter was knocked unconscious in an accident while working to remove a fallen tree from a road in eastern Caldwell County yesterday morning. A crew from the Little River Fire Department went to remove the tree from Draco road when one firefighter was hit in the head. The News Topic reports other firefighters rushed to his aid calling an ambulance, which took him to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
