Eastbound traffic on I-40 yesterday afternoon was delayed after a tractor-trailer carrying 70,000 pounds of chicken sludge lost its load. The News Herald reports the incident was created by a two-car crash at mile marker 115 that caused traffic to back up. The chicken sludge caused more accidents as roads became slick including a four-car pileup and two separate crashes around mile marker 116.
