Caldwell Emergency Services Director Thanks Citizens for Adhering to Curfew

To the Citizens of Caldwell County,

I would like to take a moment and thank those of you that heeded the curfew that was imposed last night from 8:00 p.m. through 6:00 a.m. this morning, and for those who had to be at work that traveled cautiously.
Although I understand that this may have been an inconvenience to some, our staff, all emergency services personnel in the County and those in support functions in response to Winter Storm Diego, greatly appreciate the reduction in traffic that, throughout the day, impeded emergency response functions.

In addition to the increased ease of safe travel for emergency vehicles, this reduction in traffic also allowed utility companies to make great strides in restoring services, and municipalities, NCDOT and its contract workers, to work more efficiently and effectively at clearing the roadways, all of which reduced the inconveniences to the community in a much timelier manner.

At the end of the day, it is the goal of all emergency services personnel to ensure the safety of those in their care, and to return home to their family at the end of their shift. Thank you for helping us meet those goals.
Stay safe, stay warm, and we hope you enjoy this beautiful snow during this year’s Christmas Season.

Yours in Service,

Dino DiBernardi, Chief of Department/Director
