The Caldwell County Animal Control Shelter was fined by the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services after an injured dog died several hours after being brought in for treatment back in September. The News Topic reports an investigation showed staff did not follow the proper treatment plan for the animal and that some of the other animals in the shelter were not properly processed.
