A former narcotics task force lieutenant with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office pleaded guilty to an embezzlement charge yesterday. Jody Price was a lieutenant until March of last year when the internal investigation in the embezzlement was taken over by the State Bureau of Investigation. The News Herald reports the embezzlement took place between August 2017 to March 2018. Price was sentenced to 4 years of probation and is required to pay a restitution of over $13,000.
