Grease fire closes Checkers restaurant in Hickory

A grease fire at Checkers fast-food restaurant in Hickory closed the restaurant yesterday morning. The fire damaged the restaurant’s grill, exhaust hood and ventilation system and The Hickory Daily Record reports it is unclear how long the restaurant will stay closed.
