The News-Topic reports Lenoir City Council took a step toward closing Steele Street during its Tuesday meeting. Developer Yorke Lawson bought the Steele Cotton Mill off Steele Street on July 19 and has requested to close the connector between Harper and College Avenues. Lawson plans on turning the old mill into apartments.
