Hudson Police Department officers are now better equipped to save lives. The News-Topic reports thanks to a donation by the CEO of Project Lazarus, 28 doses of Narcan — a drug that can counter the effects of an opioid overdose — all of Hudson’s officers carry one canister on their belt and also have a backup dose. Project Lazarus focuses on minimizing the overdose mortality rate in the region and as of last January, the organization had received 13,394 confirmed reports of Narcan saving the life of an overdose patient since 2013.
