A Lincolnton man was killed early Sunday morning in a fiery crash on NC 16 near Balls Creek Road In Catawba County. According to the NC Highway Patrol, 26 year old Jonathan Lee Gidney was driving a 2004 Cadillac North on NC 16. He had passed several cars and was left of center when he struck a Freightliner Fed Ex Tractor trailer head on. Gidneys car immediately burst into flames. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
