A Conover man is faces charges child pornography charges after an investigation by the Catawba County Sheriffs Office. 45 year old Darren Eugene Matthews is charged with 2nd degree sexual exploitation of a minor and third degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Police say Matthews possessed thousands of images of child pornography that were obtained over the internet.
