A fire this morning at Lenoir fast food restaurant caused considerable damage. Firefighter from Lenoir fire department responded to the Wendy’s on Blowing Rock Boulevard after a fire started in a heating and air condition unit on the roof. Deputy Chief Kenny Nelson said the fire was quickly brought under control but there was heavy roof damage and some smoke and water damage in interior, several employees who were inside at the time escaped uninjured.
