Arrest in Kidnapping Case

UPDATE: One person has been arrested in connection to a home invasion and kidnapping that happened in Hickory last month.  Donald SImpson of Lenoir  is charged with first degree kidnapping, first degree burglary, and larceny of a motor vehicle.  A woman reported that she and a juvenile were restrained after two men entered the home on 7th Ave. Pl., SW.  A man returned home and the suspects forced him to another location where he and a bystander were shot but both survived.

 

 

 

On Tuesday, November 19 at approximately 8:15 pm, Hickory Officers responded to a residence located in the 700 Block of 7th Ave PL SW reference a home invasion and kidnapping. The victim, B/F 26 of Hickory, reported that two black males entered the residence, restraining the victim and an additional juvenile. During the incident an additional victim, B/M 37 of Hickory, returned home and was forced by the suspects to a location in the 500 Block of 1st Ave SE.

While at the 1st Ave SE location, an altercation occurred resulting in the B/M victim and another bystander in the business being shot. One victim received non-life threatening injuries and was treated and released from Frye Regional Medical Center. The second victim was transported to Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, NC and is in stable condition. The unknown suspects fled the scene in a 2016 burgundy Kia Optima that was stolen from the 7th Ave PL SW location.
