The man wanted for shooting at police officers in Hudson Thursday morning is dead after exchanging more fire with U.S. Marshals Thursday evening. 28 year old Kentrey Marquis Witherspoon was located in the area of Shasta Drive in Lenoir and went inside Kincaid Plant 6 on SW Norwood Street. The plant was evacuated but Witherspoon refused to surrender. After lengthy negotiations failed, he was engaged by U.S. Marshals and was found deceased inside the plant. It all started as the result of a traffic stop Thursday morning where Witherspoon allegedly shot at officers and fled. No officers were injured.
