A man involved in a deadly hit and run on interstate 40 Tuesday afternoon has surrendered to police. 71 year old Earle Blanton turned himself in Thursday. Harold Dean Stewart lll was killed when he was hit by a pick up truck driven by Blanton as he walking along the interstate. A motorist had stopped to check on Stewart to see if he needed help since he was almost in the roadway. Blanton swerved, struck a concrete barrier and the stopped vehicle before hitting Stewart. No charges have been filed while the Highway Patrol investigates.
