MLK Day events

Join community members for the annual Memory March from J.E. Broyhill Park to the City’s Martin Luther King Jr. Center followed by the MLK Day Celebration.  The Memory March will start at 1:30 p.m. at J.E. Broyhill Park, 509 Ridge St. NW, and end at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center.  Rev. Kim E. Moss from Lenoir will be the keynote speaker for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration, which starts at 2:00 p.m.Sponsored by the Lenoir Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).

Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Office of Multicultural Affairs will host the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Day celebration today (January 20) at 10 a.m. in the P.E. Monroe Auditorium. This year’s guest speaker is noted pastor the Rev. David E. Roberts, II.
Immediately following the program, attendees are invited to participate in the annual  (NAACP) march.   The march will begin at 11 a.m. in front of P.E. Monroe Auditorium and extend approximately two miles to the Ridgeview Recreation Center.
