The brief winter weather on Friday claimed one life in the area. 48-year-old Thrana Charmane Frye of Iron Station was killed in an accident in Lincoln County that the Highway Patrol is calling weather related.
The accident happened just after noon Friday on Bethel Church Road, near Business 321. A dump truck towing a large flatbed trailer was entering a sharp curve when the trailer slid across the center line and collided with a car being driven by Frye. The dump truck driver was not injured.
