With more rain in the forecast this week, Duke Energy says its meteorologists are keeping a close eye on the forecast and the possibility of more flooding. Moderate to isolated heavy rainfall will likely occur Monday night through the day on Tuesday.
Wednesday should be light rain with another front moving through the area on Thursday with more rain and possibly a heavy line of rainfall as a part of this. Over the next 4 days, the Upper Catawba area could likely see 3 to 4 inches of rainfall.
As we are all aware, this past week’s rainfall has filled all the basins of the Catawba. Hydro Operations has continued to move water through the system as aggressively as possible. Not having as much room in the large storage basins may create a more challenging situation as we look at potential high water along the Upper Catawba.
