A Morganton woman is facing embezzlement charges from her former employer. Burke County Sheriffs detectives charged Mychel Pendley Heffner wirth Embezzlement of Property by Office or Employment Heffner was former treasurer for International Cesarean Network (ICAN) The non profit provided Detectives with numerous items showing that approximately $26,119.00 had been taken. Hefner who admitted that she had been misusing funds and had attempted to pay back some of the monies. She told detectives that she had also admitted this to the board of directors and advised them she would pay back the funds. She was placed under a $1000.000 bond.
