A Burke County woman is scheduled to make her next court appearance on March 11th after she was charged with death of her baby 21 years ago.
54-year-old Deborah Riddle O’Conner of Morganton is charged with first degree murder. She was arrested last week by Cumberland County Sheriff’s Officers after detectives came to Burke County to interview her. In March of 1999, the body of a baby, not even a full day old yet was discovered in a plastic bag along a road in Cumberland County. An ongoing investigation and DNA led detectives to O’ Conner.
