Coronavirus update

As of this morning there were 16 cases of coronavirus in NC and that number is expected to climb. There have been no cases reported in Burke, Caldwell, or Catawba Counties.   Meanwhile, concerns for public health has forced numerous events to be cancelled and NC Gov. Roy Cooper is recommending not attending events with more than 100 people gathered.  No NC public schools have closed but most have cancelled field trips and extracurricular activities.  the NC High School Athletic association has suspended spring sports including workouts, practice, and contests.  The 2020 High school Basketball State Championship is postponed indefinitely.  Lenoir Rhyne University announced the cancellation of athletic events for the remainder of the spring season.
