Late Monday Afternoon, Caldwell County reported it’s first Coronavirus related death. Caldwell County Public Health Director Anna Martin said the loss of any patient is tragic and the death points to the importance of taking every precaution to slow the spread of the virus. Caldwell County also reported four new cases on Monday bringing the total number of positives to 64. Health officials say 26 patients have recovered.
Burke County reported its 12th and 13th Coronavirus related Deaths on Monday. The individuals in their 60s and 80s were not hospitalized but died from complications associated with their underlying medical conditions. Seven new cases were confirmed on Monday in Burke County bring the total to 145.
The numbers were a little better in Catawba County with officials there reporting one new positive case on Monday. That brings the overall total in Catawba County to 83. Health officials say 45 patients have recovered.
