Coronavirus Update From Monday

Nineteen COVID-19 cases were reported to the Health Department since Friday — 15 in the 28645 Zip code, three in the 28630, and one in the 28601. Five patients are under the age of 17; five patients are between 25 and 49; two are between 50 and 64; six are between 65 and 74; and one patient is over the age of 75.

People with COVID-19 have reported a wide range of symptoms from mild to severe. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus and include:

·        Fever or chills

·        Cough

·        Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

·        Fatigue

·        Muscle or body aches

·        Headache

·        New loss of taste or smell

·        Sore throat

·        Congestion or runny nose

·        Nausea or vomiting

·        Diarrhea

If you are calling just to make an appoint for COVID-19 testing, please call 828-764-9150.

Please remember that all residents who are tested for COVID-19 are to STAY AT HOME until
their test results come back unless they are an essential worker and have no symptoms and they can
return to work as long as they wear a MASK AT ALL TIMES when working.
Please remember: All residents are required to wear a face covering inside and outside when you
cannot physically distance yourself more than 6 feet away from others. Public Health would ask
that you follow the Executive Order.
