The completion of NC Hwy 16 has been delayed until 2022. The project to take the road to 4 lanes had been ongoing for 3 years. Utility issues and weather have caused delays. The report from the North Carolina Department of Transportation stated the road will be finished 2 years later than originally expected.
The City of Lenoir will close two lanes of West Avenue in front of the old Caldwell County EMS building, 616 West Ave., Monday morning at 7:00 a.m.
The lane closure will help Caldwell County with demolition of the building. The lanes will remain closed for five to six hours, barring any unforeseen issues.
