US 321 was closed between Mission Rd and Pine Mtn Rd Thursday around 420 pm. A Piedmont Natural Gas line had been severed at 3255 Hickory Blvd in Hudson. Residents were warned to shelter in place, limit time outside and be aware of headache, dizziness or nausea. Repairs were expected to take 10 hours. Hudson Fire Department, Saw Mills Fire, Hudson Police, NC Hwy Patrol, Caldwell Emergency Management and Piedmont Natural Gas all responded. As of early Friday, Hwy 321 has reopened.
