A man was found dead in Morganton over the weekend and a teen has been charged. Morganton Department of Public Safety officers found Jerry Ahmed Corpening 67, injured at 309 Burkemont Ave on Saturday. He died moments later. Iziaha Daprince Corpening 18, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. The death remains under investigation, bond was set at $100,000. A first court appearance is set for today.
