High Speed Internet

Close to 7,000 homes and 374 businesses in 12 counties will be getting high speed internet.  Gov Cooper announced $23.4 million in grants to upgrade the systems.  Locally, Alexander, Avery and Lincoln Counties will receive funding.

Multiple Drug Charges

Heroin charges were brought against a Morganton man.  33 year old Vicente Omar Forney was arrested by Morganton Department of Public Safety officers.  He also faces possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor larceny.  Officers arrested Forney at WalMart
