Distributing Dignity Drive

Distributing Dignity Drive.  Items will be collected through February 28th.  They will be distributed through the Women’s Shelter Home of Caldwell County, Bethel Colony Women’s Program and Yokefellow.  Items needed include feminine products, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes and deodorant.  Drop off sites include Quest for Life and Ohana Store.          Feb 9th to bring awareness of Teen Date Violence. Pot of Gold Fundraiser

Food Drive

Caldwell and Alexander Boy Scouts will be holding a drive thru drop off food drive on Saturday morning February 27th.  Locations include Food Lion stores in Lenoir, Hudson and Taylorsville.  Lowes Food in Taylorsville, Bethlehem Fire Dept and St John’s Church.  No homemade items accepted.

Irish Studies Event

Lenoir-Rhyne University announces it will host the 31st annual 2021 Southern Region Chapter of the American Conference for Irish Studies set to run from March 18-20. The conference, originally scheduled for November 2020, was pushed to March 2021 in the hopes of being able to hold it in person, but COVID-19 has forced it to be held virtually. Lifeguard Class

The City of Lenoir Parks and Recreation Department is offering a lifeguard certification class. Successful completion of the course may result in employment with the Lenoir Aquatic and Fitness Center. Participants must be 15 years old on or before March 15, 2021, to participate. Girls must wear a one-piece swimsuit. Participants must complete a pretest before taking the class.
