Morganton taking Next Step Toward Downtown Housing

Morganton is taking the next step toward adding more downtown housing. The Morganton city council approved to allocate $120,000 for low interest loans to aid in the creation of housing in the central business district.  The News Herald Reports loans are to help property owners in making Necessary upgrades to structures and will be awarded on a first-come first-serve basis. According to Sharon Jablonski Director of the Main streets program there are 27 potential projects that could take place downtown.
