ALEXANDER COUNTY – K-9 Remi loves to sniff out crime and trace the tracks of criminals and that is exactly what the nearly one year old bloodhound did on Sunday, Sept 18.

K-9 Remi helped its handler Cpl. Caudel, with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, trace a suspect who had reportedly fled into the woods after he allegedly assaulted a deputy, according to a press release from the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office.  The thirty-four-year-old man reportedly had outstanding warrants and while he was being placed in custody, he allegedly assaulted the deputy then fled.  K-9 Remi was called into action and along with Taylorsville Police Department and NC State Highway Patrol located the suspect.
