The Hickory Museum of Art has named Clarissa Starnes as its new Executive Director

The Hickory Museum of Art has named Clarissa Starnes as its new Executive Director, according to a press release issued on March 7. Starnes, who had previously served as Associate Director for six years and in various other positions over a four-year period, expressed her excitement and gratitude at being selected for the role. She pledged to continue the Museum’s tradition of providing engaging exhibits and programs that demonstrate the transformative power of art. The Board of Trustees search committee, which worked with a recruiter to identify candidates from a broad geographic area, unanimously agreed that Starnes was the best candidate for the position. The Museum’s President, Jeff Behmer, praised the selection, saying he was “very pleased” to announce Starnes as HMA’s next leader.
