A woman with a history of multiple convictions was arrested by Burke County Sheriff’s Officers on March 9. Priscilla Dawn Moody of Rhodhiss Road in Connelly Springs has been charged with felony possession of a schedule II controlled substance in Burke County and is also facing habitual felon charges in Catawba County. Moody has a long criminal record dating back to 2011, with convictions in Burke, Alleghany, McDowell, and Caldwell Counties. Her crimes include larceny of firearms, motor vehicles, and controlled substances obtained by fraud. Moody’s most recent convictions were in May and September of 2021 in McDowell and Caldwell Counties. Despite receiving four months of jail time for the May conviction, Moody received probation and a 36-month suspended sentence following her September conviction. She is currently being held in Morganton under a $55,001 secured bond and is set to appear in Superior Court in both Catawba and Burke Counties in early April.
