The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will be hosting a public meeting on March 28th to discuss a proposed project to improve N.C. 127 in Catawba and Alexander counties. The project aims to enhance safety and decrease traffic congestion by expanding N.C. 127 to a four-lane divided roadway with a grass median, restricting driveways to one connection per parcel, and developing a right-turn lane at Bethlehem School Road. Additionally, the plan suggests constructing a new bridge adjacent to the current bridge over Lake Hickory, a 10-foot side path on the west side of NC 127, and a 5-foot sidewalk on the east side of NC 127. The meeting will take place at Bethlehem Baptist Church, located at 7500 N.C. 127 in Taylorsville, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., and attendees will have the chance to interact with NCDOT staff and review project details and maps. Participants can also provide comments via phone, email, or mail as mentioned on the NCDOT project webpage.
