Avery County Tree Farm to Supply White House Christmas Tree

Cartner’s Christmas Tree Farm in Avery County has been selected to supply the Christmas tree for the first family at the White House this year. The tree dubbed “Tree-mendous” stands 20 ft tall and measures 12 ft across. It was selected by White House staffers on Monday, and is scheduled to be harvested on November 20th before making its way to the White House Blue Room. Cartners Christmas Tree Farm was selected to provide the White House tree after winning the Premiere Growers Award at this year’s National Christmas Tree Association’s national christmas tree contest, which is provided the official White House Christmas tree since 1966.
