Experience the nostalgic celebration of America’s rich movie and music history with the Peacherine Ragtime Society Orchestra! Hailed as “the premier American ragtime ensemble” by The Washington Post, Peacherine takes you back in time to hear the syncopated stylings from a bygone era – ragtime, theater, and dance music, all played with zip and pep from the original historic orchestral scores. Sparkling vocal and instrumental favorites bring back to life, leaving audiences tapping their feet and humming along to classics by Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, George Gershwin, Scott Joplin, and The Ragtime Masters. Closing the program is a silent film from the 1920s, underscored just as it was 100 years ago, with live music and sound effects!
