The Caldwell County schools named the volunteer of the year. It is Angie Carroll who is a volunteer at West Lenoir Elementary School. She has over 600 hours this year alone with tasks from shelving books to operating a Christmas store. The volunteer appreciation event was held Tuesday. A new award for community volunteering was named after Superintendent Steve Stone. It was presented to Waterlife Church.
