Elizabeth Conway Vetetoe of Hickory was driving eastbound on I-40 when she hit a crash barrier near the new bridge on Thursday evening. Vetetoe suffered minor injuries but refused treatment on site and was charged with failure to maintain lane. Her vehicle blocked the left lane which caused a second collision, but no injuries were reported. With traffic still back up a third accident was reported after Monique Teller collided with a truck. She was unable to stop in time while approaching traffic. Teller was transported to the hospital suffering from chest pains and wrist injuries. She was charged with failure to reduce speed.
