Daniel Ray Farnsworth of Newton had been charged with second degree kidnapping, assault on a female, and assault by strangulation according to the Hickory Daily Record. Farnsworth was charged after a female came into the Newton Police Department stating she had just escaped Farnsworth’s residence after being held there for three days. The female had visible facial injuries and bruising to her arms. EMS was contacted and transported the victim to the hospital for treatment. Farnsworth is being held in the Catawba County Detention Facility with no bond.
