Eight people were rescued from the Catawba River on Saturday Afternoon. Matthew and Brettany Glover, Deanna Hardy, another adult and four children were thrown from their inner tubes after entering the spillway according to the Morganton News Herald. Two kayaks tried to rescued the group but called 911 after they were unsuccessful. They were pulled from the river near Judge’s Riverside BBQ. No one was injured.
