Schools all across Caldwell County are helping hurricane victims along the coast. Sawmills Elementary school raised over $1,000 that will go to five families to help their rebuilding efforts. Gamewell Elementary raised $500 to purchase box fans and donated cleaning supplies such as mops and towels which the News Topic Reports are among the items listed by the North Carolina National Guard as preferred items for donations. South, West and Hibriten have adopted Cape Fear high school in Fayetteville and are currently accepting donations of toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorants, and other hygiene-related products.
