One man was rescued from the Linville Gorge on Wednesday morning after being injured while hunting, according to the Morganton News Herald. He has been out hunting on the Brushy Ridge Trail when he lost his footing and fell, breaking his ankle, said Capt. Brad Browning with Burke County EMS. Emergency officials do not believe that the man was alone, but the rescue mission took approximately seven hours. The man was transported to a hospital after being brought out of the Linville Gorge.
