A single-vehicle accident caused Highway 127 in Mountain View to be shut down for an hour and a half Tuesday. Lisa Canipe of Hickory traveled off the side of the road and collided with trees after falling asleep at the wheel. The Daily Record reports Savannah Canipe, a passenger of the vehicle, was seriously injured and had to be flown to a Charlotte hospital after being removed from the vehicle by first responders.
