A portion of West Union Street in Morganton was shut down after firefighters were called to Benjamin’s and Libba’s after there were reports of smoke in the building Monday. It was found that an HVAC unit located in the ceiling area above the first floor malfunctioned, which The News Herald reports caused the smoke to appear in the building.
