A temporary shelter has been set up at the Tarlton Complex at Catawba Valley Community College in response to localized flooding at Ridgecrest Apartments. The Hickory Daily Record reports the shelter is open for residents and their pets in Catawba County who have been relocated due to the storm and is providing cots, blankets, restrooms, showers, food and a mobile pet shelter.
