Man Killed Walking Near U.S. 321

A Lenoir man walking along Highway 321 was struck and killed yesterday morning by a truck that appeared to have gone off the road, Lenoir News Topic reports. The victim, Scottie Lee Hilton, was walking south beside Blowing Rock Blvd near Crest View Baptist Church, about 7:15 a.m. when a pickup truck drifted to the right and hit him, Trooper F.J. Beam of N.C. Highway Patrol said. Authorities are continuing to investigate, no charges have been filed.
