A man in Claremont faces six charges after deputies say he ran a car off the road, fired a pistol at an intersection and left two children unattended on Sunday, according to a press release from the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office. Joshua Elliott Parlier is charged with one count each of speeding to elude arrest, DWI and armed to the terror of the public. He is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of child abuse. He’s being held on a $12,000 secured bond.
