Improvements to numerous exits along Interstate 40 in Burke County have been delayed in the state’s 10-year draft transportation plan. The News Herald reports several updates have been delayed until next year. Other projects listed include the 17.5 million dollar project to replace Castle Bridge in Rutherford College in 2022 and a $47 million dollar project to widen Connelly Springs’ road slated to start in 2024.
