K9 officers retire from LPD

Two employees of Lenoir Police Department have earned a nice retirement.  Earlier this week K9s Cerik (left) and Mato retired from the City of Lenoir Police Department.  City Council thanked the animals and handlers for their service. The dogs will spend their retirement living with their handlers and families.  Cerik worked more than 1,000 events during his career and Mato worked more than 700. Those events include training, narcotics searches, building searches, article searches, tracks, and demonstrations.  (Photos courtesy of City of Lenoir)
